September 2010 - Hunters Country House, Plettenberg Bay, part of the family owned and operated Hunter Hotel Group was awarded the highest accolade of a Diamond Award at the 2010 Diners Club Winelist Awards.
Comments General Manager Inge Johansen: "There's no end to the good news...last month our Hunter's Country House Head Chef Tanja Kruger was awarded her South African Culinary Colours and made a member of the 8 strong South African Olympic Squad...now a Diner's Club Diamond Award! We are absolutely thrilled; a lot of care and thought goes into our extensive wine list with focus on offering an overall snapshot of the South African wine industry with interesting unknowns and well loved SA greats. Having great wines by the glass available is also relevant in today's times. It is important to us that the wines available can be well and creatively matched to Tanja's exploratory cuisine style. It is also wonderful to know that the Garden Route is becoming recognised as a food and wine destination in its own right."
