Algoa FM presenters have beaten sports broadcasters and writers from the rest of South Africa to win the 2010 Supersport Media Quiz.
The Algoa FM team was made up of morning drive show presenter Daron Mann, evening show jock Viv Bozack, sports presenter Rory Petzer, and Suren Packery, office manager and sales executive from the station's East London offices.
The Algoa FM team claim to have "trained hard" to make it through the regional knock-out rounds, and were the only radio station in the finals.
Team captain Daron Mann said the questions, compiled by Supersport Communications Manager Clinton van der Berg, were "unbelievably tough".
"When the halftime scores were announced we thought we'd be near the back of the field and were actually pretty shocked to discover we were leading. It was clear everyone was battling. Thereafter it was just a case of trusting our instincts and closing out the win."
Mann is also a founder of Sport Elizabeth, a local sports newspaper in which Algoa FM has shares. He won the Weakest Link Celeb challenge in 2007.
