Camp Rock II: The Final Jam came to schools across the country this week, ahead of its September 18th premiere, thanks to Posterscope, the agency currently handling the lion's share of out of home spend in SA. Following the huge success in the United States, where the movie's premiere was watched by eight million viewers ranking it this year's number one cable movie, the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato are set to rock South Africa at 09:00 AM on 18th September when the movie premieres on the Disney Channel South Africa (DStv channel 303).
Posterscope together with Ignite Idea Management, crammed promoters into old school VW Kombis complete with summer camp roof rack and canoe, to promote the movie amongst school kids at 60 schools in the Western Cape, KZN and Gauteng, handing out flyers and ‘Camp Rock' harmonicas.
Carni Wilkens, MD of Posterscope SA says, "We are expecting to achieve record viewership of this much anticipated premiere - a full out rock ‘n roll musical that celebrates music, dance and summer. We wanted to bring Camp Rock 2 directly to kids, and how better to create excitement than by paying unexpected visits to schools".
Posterscope worked alongside Aegis Group partner, Carat who handled the Media Planning throughout the campaign.
