Atmosphere Celebrates THe Appointment Of Its First Director And Scores A BEE Level Two Accreditation

Cape Town, October 2009: PR consultancy, Atmosphere Communications, has appointed one of its leading consultants to the board of the company. Julie Etheridge, who has been with the company for four years, has been made a director of the most awarded agency in SA during 2009.

"Julie has been instrumental in growing our business over the past four years from nine staff members to 23. Also, her strong leadership skills have honed Atmosphere's skills in the financial services industry - our blue-chip financial service clients now include Sanlam, Sanlam Investments, Capitec and Santam," says Nicola Nel, MD of Atmosphere.

"In addition to the business growth, Julie's team secured a host of creative awards for Atmosphere, including the overall campaign winner at the PRISMs for repositioning Sanlam Investment Management at the 2009 PRISMS."

The company has also concluded its two-month verification process by the independent BEE verification agency, I-Quad.

"The accreditation is done on nine levels, of which level one is the highest. Level two Broad Black Economic Empowerment (BBEE) status for a company of our size is a great achievement. This means that our clients earn BEE status points at 125% of their spend with Atmosphere," says Etheridge.

"We are delighted with our accreditation status. This is as a result of our strong focus on training and fast tracking our black staff. Our mentorship programmes as well as the annual internships ensure that we grow not only our own staff, but new entrants into the PR industry as well."

In addition, Atmosphere has a strong focus on assisting small entrepreneurs and is commitment to making a difference at the Shine Centre - a charity which focuses on teaching reading and writing skills to young learners.
