Sport Coaches Discuss Ways To Help SA Stars
Medals in the 2012 Olympics for SA stars, managing elite athletes and coaching and talent development of children were among the topics discussed at the Sports Coaching Track event in Johannesburg in August.

Powerade's Sports Coaching Track was held as part of the 6th top level annual Discovery Vitality Fitness Convention presented by the Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA).

It brought together experts like Gideon Sam, CEO of SASCOC who spoke on ‘12 Medals in 2012', Allan Temple-Jones and Paul Treu (both involved with SA Rugby Sevens World Champions) and sports performance managers including Dr Ross Tucker and sports scientist Jimmy Clark.

Since 2002, these conventions - held every 18 months - have created a credible platform to educate, motivate and share opportunities in the fitness industry in South Africa.

Ismail Nanabhay, Brand Manager of Powerade says the brand is such a key player in the sports and fitness industry that it was only natural for it to be involved and it was delighted to provide the opportunity for sports scientists and coaches to share ideas.

"Powerade provides fuel that helps athletes maintain performance and delay fatigue. It's great to be able to align the brand with other big players in the industry as the sports drink of choice," he said.
