CSI:Miami star Eva La Rue to do catalogue locally for Browns Jewellers
In an endorsement deal brokered by Marcus Brewster Publicity (MBP), CSI:Miami female lead Eva La Rue (Natalie Boa Vista on screen) will star in premium jeweller Browns The Diamond Store's new seasonal catalogue. The actress, who arrived in South Africa this month for the campaign shoot, is the latest installment of the jeweller's long association with celebrities that include Celine Dion, Simply Red's Mick Hucknall, JayKay of Jamiroquai and Charlize Theron among others.
The Browns catalogue forms part of an endorsement deal and greater campaign collateral featuring the star. Browns is fast gaining a reputation among socialites and stars world-wide as a prolific jewellery design house and South African diamond specialist.
"Eva encapsulates the essence of the brand," says designer and co-proprietor Larry Brown. "Classic elegance, sophistication and femininity, yet accessible - elements which reflect in every piece we create and aspects which we recognise in Eva and the roles she assumes on both the big and small screen."
La Rue is a recipient of the esteemed Gracie Allen Award by the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television. She was also nominated for a 2004 Daytime Emmy (her 2nd nomination) for Best Original Song for "Dance Again With You". Her previous portrayal of Dr. Maria Santos on the ABC daytime drama ALL MY CHILDREN, earned her a first Emmy and NAACP Nomination and won her an ALMA for Outstanding Actress in a daytime drama.
In addition to her role on CSI:MIAMI, La Rue can be seen on the E! Style Network where she Co-Hosts MODERN GIRL'S GUIDE TO LIFE and last year had a recurring role as George's sister on ABC's THE GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW among others.
La Rue has won the hearts of both prime-time and daytime audiences with her natural charisma and animated personality. TV Guide referred to La Rue as "...a movie queen ripe for the picking. Beneath her exotic, erotic exterior is a deeply touching star-spangled wholesomeness."
CSI:Miami is at this time the top rated television serial in several territories, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa.
The Eva La Rue initiative for Browns, a long-time MBP account, is "another example of the international leverage and influence the firm is able to extend on behalf of its clients" says CEO Brewster. Two years ago, the PR agency secured the global launch of the By Caprice lingerie range for Canderel, a campaign that went on to win top FMCG honours in the 2007 PRISM Awards as well as the overall Gold Award for Best PR Campaign of the Year.
Marcus Brewster Publicity won seven trophies at the 2008 PRISM Awards for PR Excellence, the most awarded PR firm in South Africa for the second year in a row.
