Psychologies Magazine Wins Two ADvantage ADmag Awards
Psychologies magazine has scooped two ADvantage ADmag Awards 2007 for excellence in publishing: The coveted Newcomer of the Year award, PLUS a gold award in the Inspiration/Wellness category. The ADmag Awards, hosted and initiated by John Farquhar and the ADvantage editorial team, identify and honour consumer magazines that stand head and shoulders above their competitors.

Psychologies was launched in South Africa in April last year. The glossy title, published by Media24 Special Interest Women's Magazines Division, is described as a magazine for sophisticated and emotionally intelligent women. Edited by Tracy Melass, Psychologies focuses on self-accomplishment, better living and relationships.

Melass says she is very proud of the achievement, and enthuses that the market is ready for a women's magazine that engages with a unique segment of a sophisticated audience traditionally not covered by female titles. "It's a magazine for reading, not just leafing through. Our editorial mix explores the relationship the South African woman has with herself, those close to her, her body and wellbeing. "

Under the licensee of Finev, Psychologies was launched in France in 1997, and has become the title with the highest growth there during the past 11 years, increasing its circulation by a staggering 330%. Since then its runaway global success has seen editions launched in Italy, Spain, Great Britain, China, Russia, Belgium, Romania and South Africa.

Says Charlene Beukes, publisher for Media24 Special Interest Women's Magazines Division, "We are delighted with Psychologies' first award! We're 100% focused on creating a product that delivers on our promise to both readers and advertisers, and believe this is a sign of great things to come."

Available every second month, Psychologies retails at a premium price of R31,95. The seventh issue (April/May 2008) is available in stores now.

Psychologies is published by Media24 Special Interest Women's Magazines Division, publishers of Psychologies, Femina and Lééf met Hart & Siel.
