Mama Naledi Advises

Dear Mama

RUNNING SCARED

I have recently been promoted internally and have been executing my new role for a month now. Although pleased with the opportunity, I do not feel that I have the right skills or qualifications for the position. I am taking strain because of the fear that I may fail and subsequently let my team down. I have been offered no training and have been expected to ‘run with it' on my own. How do I broach this with my Line Managers without seeming ungrateful and incompetent?

"Stressed Eric"

Dear "Stressed Eric"

First of all well done on your promotion, your seniors have clearly seen your true potential. It is important for you to identify the areas in which you are not coping and address them with your line manager as soon as the opportunity arises. It is in the best interest of your company to invest time and money to up-skill you and enhance the overall performance of the company.

Good luck "Stressed Eric."
You can do this!

Mama
