Job Description

An in-house digital agency of a leading global FMCG business has a vacancy for a Senior Data Analyst to coordinate and oversee reporting efforts (paid, earned, owned) of Audience Analysts within a select portfolio of brands, to deliver digital performance excellence.


  • Support the Lead in ensuring weekly, monthly, campaign and special research project deadlines are met. Ensuring assigned tasks have been completed in the agreed timeframe
  • Support the Lead in ensuring Audience Analysts work closely with Data Analysts to visualize data and craft actionable insights which overlay a clear understanding of the brand strategy, current brand activity and overarching strategic goals, while evaluating performance data with an overarching view of the brand’s target audience, performance goals and passion-points
  • Be the custodian of Innovation and best practice. Stay up to date with brand strategy changes, Kantar research data, platform updates and new insights/strategy frameworks. Support the Lead in building strategic capabilities of the team, acting as a mentor to team members
  • Take accountability as the Insights lead. Ensure they are connecting with Data Analysts, Community Managers, Strategists, Connections and Brand teams to synthesis information into actionable insights which drive the adoption of digital strategies which influence business strategy
  • Conduct monthly 1:1s, OPRs and annual performance review for Audience Analysts directly reporting into you
  • Consistently drive and champion the development of innovative and best practice
  • Working with the Lead to set the direction, implementation, and continued success across clients to deliver actionable recommendations and insights
  • Responsible for supporting Audience Analysts output as well as making key decisions on strategic recommendations to brand teams
  • Working with the teams to develop and execute all aspects of the content development life cycle, from the initial concept through to the final delivery across all platforms
  • To creatively lead and inspire the department – taking responsibility for setting the insights development process in conjunction with the Lead
  • Must assist in running a process that tracks and analyses insights development and allows for constant benchmarking to ensure success
  • Understand the clients’ challenges, objectives, category trends, their business objectives, their market performance and success factors
  • Conduct final reviews to measure the quality of insights and recommendations put forward by the team


  • Matric
  • (Higher Certificate/Diploma) or relevant tertiary qualifications / certifications 
  • 8 + years’ experience in digital marketing with a background in social media strategy / digital strategy or media strategy. *Strategy and experience in performance marketing and content benchmarking are a must
  • Management experience preferred / natural mentorship skills and emotional maturity
  • Experience using ORM and reporting tools advantageous but can be taught
