Job Description

A leading retailer in CT is looking for a Digital Communications Manager to efficiently execute the end-to-end email marketing strategy, including planning, segmentation and targeting, set-up, testing, deployment, reporting and optimisation.

Job Objectives:

  • To coordinate the full email lifecycle, including planning, briefing, list segmentation, testing, deployment, and performance reporting
  • Responsible for owning the email marketing content calendar, working with teams across the business to plan and prioritise content in line with the brand calendar
  • To create comprehensive briefs representing business objectives enabling efficient creative production
  • Ensure segmented customer lists are briefed and timeously available and maintained for deployment
  • To brief and approve the email design to the digital account manager, ensuring adherence with templates and digital brand CI, ensuring emails render properly across different browsers and devices
  • To work with the digital designers and copywriters to craft compelling, relevant, and timely email content and subject lines to effectively engage their customers
  • Accountable for final QA before deployment, paying attention to the email detail including the correct product and promotion information
  • To manage the email and SMS deployment platform
  • Report and circulate email scorecards and use to analyse key metrics (open rates, CTRs, visits, conversion rate and revenue) of campaign performance to provide insights and actionable recommendations.
  • To work with the Digital Marketing Manager to evaluate new opportunities for customer segmentation and personalisation to bring the right message to the right customer at the right time
  • To work closely with the omni-channel team to ensure commercial decision-making in driving quality traffic to the website

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of email marketing specialist and direct marketing in general
  • An understanding of the principles of CRM and database segmentation
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms

Skills:

  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills - able to be self-directed and deliver on deadlines
  • Excellent project management as well as interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Data oriented and analytical mind-set – a passion for optimisation and A/B testing
  • An ability to report on performance metrics
  • A strong understanding of the optimisation techniques for email

Experience:

  • Experience in planning, implementing, and analysing online marketing initiatives. (3-5 years)
  • Experience in working with email marketing tools and platforms
  • 3 years of demonstrated success in email, direct marketing, or CRM roles
