Job Description

The primary purpose of the business development manager is to drive new business, engage new clients, and market the company to prospective clients.

This is a remote position with a global company and ideally the candidate should have previous sales / business development experience within the B2B and events industry. 

Candidate must be able to travel internationally.

  • Creating a list of potential leads within relevant markets
  • CRM management
  • Management of collaterals
  • Collaboration with the team lead
  • Reporting on the lead development and follow up
  • Contacting potential clients
  • Strategic development with convention centres
  • Strategic development in other fields

Sales management

  • Respond to all sales inquiries
  • Contact potential clients daily & weekly
  • Following up and reverting to client requests
  • Managing the various sales channels; lead feeder, sales navigator, website inquiries
  • Develop a business development planner & budget
  • Conduct client calls and initial discussions with prospective clients
  • Strategically aligning with new partners to further promote the company

Research/lead generation

  • Lead generation through research by creating/populating a list of potential leads within the relevant markets
  • Harvesting leads from the database
  •  Vetting all leads received 


  • Prepare correspondence, weekly reports, and high-quality presentations as required
  • Prepare budgets and proposals per client request
  • Forecast reporting, reporting on the status of the business development pipeline
  • Capturing all sales opportunities in the CRM program
  • Maintaining the CRM management system
  • Memberships and subscriptions
  • Research and submission of awards
  • Compile other reports relating to the department


  • Assist in the preparation and organising of promotional/sales material
  •  Identify key areas for business development opportunities
  • Maintain an ongoing presence on social channels
  • Review and advise on key business development materials

Travel & Trade Shows

  • Identifying key shows to assist  with lead generation
  • Assist with arranging meetings for trade shows, workshops, and sales missions
